Tokyo Rundblick

Die letzten Tage wurden hauptsächlich mit Wohnungssuche verbracht. Es war irrsinnig anstrengend, aber letztendlich leichter als erwartet. Wir haben was nettes und nicht so teures (sprich teuer, aber noch leistbar) gefunden. Jetzt muss noch alles unterschrieben und bezahlt werden, dann könnten wir nächste Woche schon einziehen.

Inzwischen hab ich mich mal seit langem wieder mit einer Freundin getroffen und wir sind dann zur Aussichtsplattform am  Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building hoch gefahren, aber leider konnte man den Fuji nicht mehr so schön sehen, es war wieder bewölkt. (In der Früh konnte man ihn angeblich vom Zug aus sehr gut sehen... naja)

Tamagawa & Pflaumenblüten

Die letzten Tage ist nicht so viel vorangegangen, wie ich gerne hätte, aber es geht immerhin voran!
Wir waren in Tamagawa und haben uns dort die Gegend angeschaut, eine Wohnung dort klingt verlockend. Keio-Tamagawa (noch Tokyo) oder jenseits des Tamagawa (Tama-Fluss) in Keio-Inadatsumi (bereits Kanagawa). Hier ein paar Bilder vom Tamagawa! Es war bereits gegen Abend und ein wenig bewölkt, bei schönem Wetter ist's dort noch viel schöner!

Welcome to Tokyo!

Endlich bin ich wieder in Tokyo angekommen!
Der Flug - zwar direkt von Wien nach Tokyo - war für mich wie jedes Mal ziemlich anstrengend, aber da kann man eben nix machen. Ich bin kein Fan von der AUA, aber mit Umsteigen müsste ich es noch länger in so einem Flugzeug aushalten und dem war ich eher abgeneigt.

Erstaunlicherweise war Montag Morgen am Flughafen in Narita so gut wie nichts los! Sprich, keine elendslange Schlange in der man 45 Minuten auf die Passkontrolle warten muss. Meine Einreise nach Tokyo wurde von einem Mann überprüft, der sichtliche Freude daran hatte, Deutsch zu sprechen und das konnte er erstaunlicherweise auch ganz gut!  Aber dazu noch eine kleine Vorgeschichte!

International driver's licence for Japan

One week left...! I'm a little bit nervous, because there still are a lot of things to do in Austria before I can go to Japan.

Yesterday, I got my international driver's licence!
In Austria, there is no problem to get the IDL for Japan. It doesn't really need time either! My boyfriend made an IDL for Austria in Japan and it took him a week or so to get it and costed about 5,000 Yen, as far as I remember.
On the other side, in Austria it costs about 14,10 € (if you're member at ÖAMTC, Austrian automobile club; if not, it's about 24 €) and takes a few minutes. You can use the IDL one year minus one day and the woman at the counter was really friendly (as she is not Viennese but from Graz, I suppose >:D) and said, that Japan is a very interesting country and wished me good luck for my journey.

明けましておめでとう ミ☆ Happy New Year!

明けましておめでとう♪　　今年もよろしくお願いしま～す！

I hope you all had a happy new year and 2011 will be a lucky year for you all! 

In Japanese there's the saying 明けましておめでとう (akemashite omedetô - "[a new year] has opened"), 　今年もよろしく (kotoshi mo yoroshiku - "best regards for this year) and Japanese like to shorten the words so you can also say あけおめ　ことよろ - ake ome koto yoro - to your close friends. :D

There are some news about this blog. In the end of February 2011, I move back to Tôkyô for job hunting and start a "new life" there. So maybe I will switch the language to German (so my family can understand) and Japanese and write a lot about job hunting in Japan and the life as a foreigner in Japan.

「日本人の知らない日本語」 Mangaka Hebizô and teacher Umino in Vienna - Part Two

On the Saturday, a group of five students of Japanese Language Division of University of Vienna went for sightseeing with Hebizô and Umino.
First we met at their hotel and went to Schloß Schönbrunn. We really really had luck, because of the beautiful weather (only rainy days before...), but unfortunatelly there were so many people at Schloß Schönbrunn, who wanted to visit the castle (and not the park!). So we would have to wait for about 3 hours to get inside the castle. That plan was skipped and we took a little walk through the park and went to the Gloriette, were we had some ice cream. Yummy!
Hebizô and Umino are interested in flea markets and so we went to Naschmarkt, which was really really crowed! They were impressed by the flea market and the food market at Naschmarkt and we also visited Cha-no-Ma, a Japanese tea shop, and Nipponya, a Japanese supermarket. Already quite hungry, we were looking for a nice place for lunch...
but something embarrasing happend...

「日本人の知らない日本語」 Mangaka Hebizô and teacher Umino in Vienna - Part One

 The Comic Essay 「日本人の知らない日本語」 (Japanese that Japanese don't know) is created by the Japanese language teacher Umino and the mangaka (漫画家) Hebizô. Umino's experience as a Japanese language teacher for foreigners in Japan are the basic for the Comic Essay, which contains short and funny episodes with her students.
Currently, 2 Volumes of 日本人の知らない日本語 were released and teacher Umino and mangaka Hebizô traveled to Europe for some inspiration for the 3rd Volume. They visited Japanese language students in Belgium, Germany, Swiss - and Austria!
